Re-introduction

Hello I am Frances. I am learning to eat healthier foods. I've invested in a gym membership and I realize that you cannot get healthy and fit if you are still eating poorly. So, I started this blog up (again).




My brother will be helping me by cooking and teaching me how to prepare food. He's been cooking since we were little kids and knows about flavor combinations and how to adjust recipes to taste. That is the frustration I was having. I would follow a recipe and it would not turn out tasty because I didn't like the seasonings. Last night he followed a recipe for crab cakes from a Weight Watchers 5 ingredient cookbook and paired it with pork fried rice. It was delicious! I'd share the recipe but I am pretty sure WW would not appreciate that.


Also, I have continued to make fresh pasta since learning how but I've now I've added fresh zucchini "zoodles". You see I bought the Kitchaid Spiralizer attachment. I love it!  Eating more greens and vegetables is really expensive but I am determined to get fit!

First Step: Learning to cook

I intend this blog to be a journal of sorts that will concentrate on my relationship with food. I am not dieting. I won't ever diet again. My first step towards living healthier is to learn to cook. So, I started with my favorite food. I bought the Kitchenaid pasta roller and cutter set. I have been making fresh pasta every weekend since! Then I learned to make ricotta cheese! Right now I have a freshly made lasagna prepped to be baked tomorrow in the refrigerator! I am just so excited!
